About us

What do we do?

Crossroads Community Care Centre Inc. is a registered charity funded by Family and Community Services to provide families and individuals in the local community with support. Crossroads is also a registered community housing provider.

Support can take many forms, whether you would just like to connect with other people in the community and attend one of our friendship groups, or you are struggling with something that is troubling you and feels insurmountable. Crossroads is here to help those struggling in our community for whatever reason, whatever your background or circumstances, and at the very least, lend a supportive ear.

Current Fundraising Projects:

We have recently be chosen as a charity partner for the Return and Earn recycling scheme and are seeking support from local businesses, schools and individuals to support us through taking their recyclable to our designated reverse vending machines.

The "Return and Earn” program from 27 August to end of November this year means you can do your bit for the environment and support the vital work of Crossroads Community Care by returning eligible containers to Reverse Vending Machine sites.

‘Return and Earn’ local donation partner drive for Crossroads

Crossroads Community Care has been named as an official local donation partner through the Return and Earn recycling scheme.

How does it work?

To donate a refund to Crossroads DV Safety, insert your eligible drink container into a reverse vending machine on our list below, select the ‘donate’ option and choose “Crossroads DV Safety”. You will be issued with a receipt to claim a tax deduction.

How long will Crossroads be a local donation partner for?

We are an official local donation partner from 27 August to 25 November 2018 (donation partners change on a regular basis). If you want to help us fund-raise, you must return your containers within these dates.

Can I drop my containers any time?

No. Each Reverse Vending Machine has its own opening hours and days. It is also a good idea to check whether the Reverse Vending Machine you intend visiting is accepting deposits (occasionally they are at capacity).

You can check both the opening and whether the Reverse Vending Machine is full or open for returns by visiting the info links provided with each location. You will see a green strip underneath the map which says (for example) “Glass: open for returns” or “plastic and cans: open for returns”.

Crossroads is a community hub, which is a place where you can come in or phone to get information about issues of personal or social concern and to find out where to turn to when you or someone you know needs extra support.

We also have office space and meeting rooms where people can attend workshops, special interest courses and groups.

It is also a place where local residents, groups and organisations can come to meet together, plan, talk and consult.

And it’s a place where government departments can quickly and easily find an accessible service in which to place and deliver new community service programs, without incurring costly overheads.
